Bloodstone Pendant
Bloodstone Pendant
Bloodstone is an intense healing stone used to cleanse and realign the lower chakras with the heart and is conducive to balancing the total body in order to overcome any distress or anxiety associated with re-alignment of these energies.
The stone is a symbol of justice. It can have a glassy to waxy luster. Legend says bloodstone was formed when drops of Christ's blood fell and stained some jasper at the foot of the cross. For this reason, it is said to have special powers. Medieval Christians used to carve scenes of the crucifixion of martyrs into bloodstone; therefore they referred to bloodstone as the martyr's stone. There is a very famous bloodstone at the Louvre museum in Paris- it is carved with the seal of the German Emperor Rudolf II. Bloodstone, along with aquamarine, is the traditional birthstone for the month of March.
